I'm surprised they still know their own names, much less be able to write and perform music.

The title inevitably makes me think of "Ghost Town" by the Specials.

Speaking of space rock I highly recommend this album. It's definitely in the running for album of the year for me. The whole thing is great and each song manages to be it's own thing while still maintaining a unified theme. (It has a long intro for the first song but stick with it. It's all good.)

Re: Music for the Masses
Hmm, something about the production doesn't do it for me. Some parts sound too much like Tool, which doesn't fit the space rock vibe they seem to be going for.Painboy wrote: ↑06 Jun 2020, 19:25 Speaking of space rock I highly recommend this album. However, listening to it led me to their 4-part "quarantine sessions," and I do like those. A less processed sound suits the music.

Re: Music for the Masses
I guess I like the Tool-ish nature of it. I find it to be a kind of an interesting mash up. But you're right about the quarantine sessions. It does actually sound better than the album's production.Andrew wrote: ↑09 Jun 2020, 13:29Hmm, something about the production doesn't do it for me. I find most space rock things too ... droning and proggy I guess for my tastes but I like that sound with a bit more structure and the heavy drums and toolishness I guess.

I liked the comment that this is a sketch artist’s drawing of a Led Zeppelin song.

I love the mix of cool and corny in these guys. I only which I was that cool: NINGEN ISU - The Color Out of Space. Their overall tone / chord patterns kinda remind me of Ghost.

Re: Music for the Masses
You know db... You have eccentric tastes. You've introduced me to a lot of stuff I otherwise would never have known about. Now for the most part, it's just lost on me. I don't want to listen to the music you listen to, or watch the movies you watch, etc. That's all well and good, you do you, I'll do me. It's cool. Plus on rare occasions you deliver something I truly enjoy. That Yacht Rock podcast for example. I had a good laugh at that. Just the one episode was enough for me. I wasn't going to binge their archives or anything, but listening to the hosts grumble over how you unearthed a choice recording thus denying them the pleasure of finding it themselves, good times.
But when it comes to humor... Yeesh. Your tastes are so vulgar and juvenile. It really bothers me.
Not that I expect you to care if I care. If it makes you laugh, it's funny to you. But I just... I just can't get past that.
