Hulk should be Secretary of Education. He is a scientist and he'll smash anyone who pushes edufads.
Iron Man should be Secretary of Energy. His arc reactor could revolutionize clean energy.
Ant Man for Attorney General because we need somebody who has been in the system to spearhead criminal justice reform.

Scarlet Witch for Treasury Secretary
Wolverine for Secretary of Agriculture (because he always grows back.)
Professor Xavier for Housing and Urban Development (if he can keep rebuilding that school every few years, he should be able to build houses.)
Dr. Strange for Secretary of Health (or at least Surgeon General)

FWIW I'm really enjoying Daredevil season 3. The secret origin of Bullseye episode was particularly good.

My recurring thought watching Luke Cage season 2 is if I'm out here waiting for Shades and Comanche to just bone already what must poor Ellie have endured?

I dunno. Wanted a Black Widow movie since the first Avengers. But I lost interest in the MCU. After Infinity War and Endgame, I was just like "yeah whatever".

Elsewhere on the internet I had a brief argument with a dude who maintains that just because the USAF lent facilities, manpower, and equipment to the production of Captain Marvel in exchange for some glory shots, script approval, and the side production of an actual recruiting video that there is no USAF propaganda in CM. Either I'm not as persuasive as I think, or there is some lingering reluctance to acknowledge any flaws whatsoever with CM lest they lead to the other guy adding on "oh and also what's the deal with women being heroes instead of sex objects?"

As a guy who enjoys his classic sitcoms, I found a lot to like about the first two episodes of Wandavision. The 'what's really going on here' seems like it's going to be a slow burn at first, but it appears to be accelerating with each episode. It'll be interesting to see where it goes. Good performances, good chemistry, and it's always nice to see Emma Caulfield on the screen.

Episode 4 really turned up the intrigue of Wandavision and has given me some high hopes for the finish.

Re: To Infinity War and Beyond: the MCU Thread with Spoilers
I really do need to watch those, but I've been working crazy hours again and having finally gotten a DnD game running, we started watching Critical Role to get give mrs lunch some example to help kickstart her first real campaign with a good DM* (she bailed on a campaign years ago because too much nerdstyle toxic mascunerdity and a more mechanistic DM style) and have gotten seriously addicted. But with 3+ hour sessions and the tendency to say OMG CLIFFHANGER GOTTA WATCH THE NEXT ONE it's pretty much subsumed our TV habits. But that and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are on my list. Bucky's actually a pretty boring character as anything but a foil for Caps, but I've dug Falcon since CA:TWS (still the zenith of the MCU in my book) and am curious to see if they can pull something off as a series. If either of these comes close to Agent Carter I'll be happy.

By "comes close to", do you mean right as the writers get the characters and narrative down, and the antagonist they've been teasing for two seasons steps into the main plot, the show gets canceled?lunchstealer wrote: ↑31 Jan 2021, 15:33 If either of these comes close to Agent Carter I'll be happy.

Well no the cancelled at the wrong place is teh suck, but the 'making you care enough that you get pissed at a bad cancellation' part. Also anything that gives a role to Enver Gjokaj. And any visual that matches Haley Atwood in that red fedora (an actual fedora at that, not a trillby with delusions of adequacy).Warren wrote: ↑31 Jan 2021, 16:14By "comes close to", do you mean right as the writers get the characters and narrative down, and the antagonist they've been teasing for two seasons steps into the main plot, the show gets canceled?lunchstealer wrote: ↑31 Jan 2021, 15:33 If either of these comes close to Agent Carter I'll be happy.

I was almost out on Wandavision after the first 15 minutes of the first episode, but certainly now I’m fully onboard.
I don’t like it quite as much as Legion (though maybe because I was going into that more ‘cold’). I do like Wandavision as an attempt to answer the question ‘so much entertainment (and other) media these days is about breaking the 4th wall. What if built a season of a show around someone trying to *build* a fourth wall?’

It's amusing to note that when Wanda expelled Geraldine she punched through literally 4 walls (well, ok one was a fence but still)Kolohe wrote: ↑05 Feb 2021, 09:32I was almost out on Wandavision after the first 15 minutes of the first episode, but certainly now I’m fully onboard.

Give it until episode 3-4 at least. For a show that's only a half hour, it's a slow-burner.
