If you don't mind subtitles (or you understand Spanish), and enjoy mystery-horror stuff, then 30 Coins might be worth a look, on HBO Max. It's a little uneven in spots, but I'm enjoying it a lot. And it has an actress that has haunted me since I first saw her 20 years ago in Dagon - Macarena Gomez.

So Okay, I know that James is going to marry Helen. Which means Helen was never going to marry Fop Whatshisname. But here we are the day before the wedding. And OH MY, So Drama Such Romance. But our man James is a true gentleman and he delivers her to the alter. WTF? How is this going to play out??? So he's driving back to his folks for Christmas day and he comes to a crossroads. *anvils crashing metaphor alert!!!* *CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG* and he turns around. NOOooo Don't do it James! Don't all The Graduate Dustin Hoffman. But he's too late! Wait what? And here's what we get by way of explanation:
James: I missed it.
Tristan: Boy did you ever.

And from that alone he surmises that Helen left Fop Face at the alter. And what's more, that she is sitting alone in the church, all guests, family, and groom having departed. Then they have a conversation that should have required a lot more exposition.

I was pissed that we didn't get to see what transpired, What did she say? How'd it go down? How'd Fop Boy handled the rejection, etc. But if the story is being told from Mr. Herriot's POV then of course he wasn't there. Still, we needed more.
