Harris is the first person I've wanted a #metoo moment for.

I believe he means he wants her to face justice for the lives she's ruined.

Like Sheriff Joe, cancelling Harris wouldn't begin to make up for the things she has done. But if it made her too radioactive for higher federal office it would at least keep her from doing any more.

Yeah, I'm not sure we've reached the point yet where "traditionally" and "Wikipedia" should go in the same sentence.

Looks like it's going to be Harris. So people are gonna say we need to vote for Uncle Crime Bill and Aunt Slave Labor so we can reform the cops and finally get justice for the black man and we're all going to continue to take electoral politics extremely seriously.

Well, that oughta guarantee that California's electoral votes go Blue. I was worried there.

The Democratic ticket was going to suck no matter who got nominated and picked for VEEP. I intended to and continue to intend to vote for that ticket because the worst possible Dem ticket in terms of Suckatude, say Sanders and AOC, would still be better than four more years of the dumpster fire we have now.

Man I would think long and hard about Sanders/AOC but I'd probably bite the bullet and do it. But I'd go full Dobby banging myself on the head with a frying pan the whole time.

Goddamn it GOP you guys have me favoring goddamned socialists please fucking grow up again okay?

Nah, that would have been Klobuchar.

I don't like the pick, but I'm not really the target of the pick. The "internet commentariat" isn't really the target. The target is "middle class white people who like a good compelling story and the ability to look competent." And she checks both those boxes.

And one-on-one she's sharp, witty, and pretty charismatic. If she drank a beer on camera it would be way less awkward than Warren. Although I suspect it'd be wine, but it really ought to be whiskey, rocks.

She would probably also have the stage presence to know it's really fucking stupid to try to go for the "gratuitous drink" when you're on a webcam. It's like wearing a hat when you're running for president; no upside. Either it looks completely mundane, or you look like a moron. No middle ground.

You should vote for Jorgensen. Everybody should vote for Jorgensen.
It won't make any difference either but it's better than throwing your vote away on Suckatude.

Of course, no one's single vote makes a difference except Kevin Costner in Swing Vote.

My sense is that Republicans could care less how large the libertarian vote is in the long run because they think that when there's a high L turnout it only means there were a larger number of disaffected Republican voters. Republicans measure their success or loss against how well Democrats do, vote for vote, election for election, win for win. The Republican Party as it now exists must be destroyed if there is ever to be a morally acceptable alternative to the Democrats and the best way to help that process at this time is to vote for Democrats.

I really don't care how you vote unless you're voting for Trump. Missouri is no longer a bellwether, it's a Red State. Texas is turning more and more mauve. So in the proverbial straw that broke the camel's or, as the case may be, elephant's back sense, my vote matters a bit more this time around. The harder Republicans have to fight for Texas, the better.

Dems' ticket is Crime Bill Guy and the Cop, and you know Trump is going to keep banging on about how his opponents want to totally defund the police.

Meanwhile, Harris and Pence are going to debate each other on October 7 and I literally cannot think of anything I want to see less. I might have to start drinking again just to cope with it being a thing that exists in the world

That's probably the only debate I'll watch, assuming there are debates. And if I was Harris, my first remark would be, "Mr. Vice President, are you comfortable being alone on a stage with a woman?"
