As usual, if anyone is to blame, it's not Donald Trump

Since I think he deleted it; here's the text of the tweet from Trump:
These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!

Not gonna lie that's pretty cool

Eta on a more serious note how big was this crowd? It's missing from the coverage I've read so far but I've been talking colleagues and friends off the ledge all afternoon.

I kinda want a bronze statue of Podium Guy as the centerpiece of the Trump presidential library.

Since crimes committed in the District of Columbia are considered in Federal Jurisdiction, what are the odds that Trump pardons the people who stormed the US Congress?

The message I saw on quotes of that tweet was that it was removed by Twitter.

Eta on a more serious note how big was this crowd? It's missing from the coverage I've read so far but I've been talking colleagues and friends off the ledge all afternoon.
A reporter had said they thought it was "10,000", but from the images I saw midday, it definitely didn't look like the crowd outside the Capitol was more than 3 to 4 thousand. But that was from TV images, and not seeing all sides of the Capitol at a time.

From the pics around the internet I'd put the total crowd of Trumpkins closer to 30K or 40K.

For reals. Authoritarianism is America's core competency. If they can't secure their own house then what is the government even good for?

Naw we're not all that good at authoritarianism, especially not towards white people. We're great at blowing up brown people far away, but that's somewhat different.

Yeah, images I've since seen of earlier at the Trump rally are definitely more people.

However, the US used to be excellent at engineering coups. Now the US can't even do it on home field.

Imagine being so committed to the anti-masking "covid-19 is a hoax" narrative, you refuse to cover your face even while you engage in acts of attempted sedition and KNOW you're being recorded.
