Re: The capitol insurrection and its aftermath

Do we even have any real evidence that there was a specific "plot" in the sense of "we are planning to invade Congress and kill/take hostages/whatever", as opposed to a bunch of red state yahoos whipping each other up? It's a fine line between the two, but I'd say there's more than enough evidence ...

Trying my best to not give anything away, but it’s not gimmicky. (But you do have to get thru the entire series to see why)

One thing I am noticing is how several of the rioters have been tracked through their phones and social media. I wonder how many of those buy into the 'Corona vaccine is a ploy to implant rfid devices' conspiracy. I read somewhere that since the Capitol is an ancient stone building and thus essenti...

the -ito thing is common enough in Spanish grammar, but making it an appellation (i.e nickname or term of address), instead of just a adjective, is a bit slangy & casual.

Not sure how the qualification worked back then. Though some of th...

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. I never saw Fences, the other movie production(so far) based on this series of plays (called ‘the century cycle’), so I can’t compare, but, while very good, you can see the ‘adaptation from a play’ bones on this very clearly, to the point it became a bit distracting for me....

Soul, the new Pixar flick is another solid outing from them. I do agree with one reviewer in that I think it stops a little bit short of fulling fleshing out its own premises and underlying tension so the resolution, while satisfying and earned, is a bit pat.
