Re: The capitol insurrection and its aftermath
It wasn't Ted Cruz. He's not a Trump trufan, and he lacks the vertebral fortitude to actually risk anything for any cause. The big name Team Red senators: Cruz, Graham, McConnell, Rand, etc. just blew with the wind that was coming from Donald Trump, and they'll blow some other way when he's gone. T...

Re: The capitol insurrection and its aftermath
I've never paid close attention to Cruz so I have no idea how dumb or smart he is.
However, I note he just started a new term and is not up for re-election until 2026, so fortunately for him, the fiasco of January 6th, 2021 and his role in it will probably be a long-faded memory by that point.

I totally support Trump’s pardon of Bannon. It’s the most representative exhibit of the Trump administration. Trump supporters getting conned by a Trumpist and then getting away with it because Trump doesn’t care about people that support him. The latest list is full of slime: Besides Bannon, other...

It's not a good time to be a banker in China. China doesn’t fool around when it comes to financial regulation. On January 5, a Chinese court sentenced a senior finance industry executive to death. He was guilty – in the words of the court –of being “extremely greedy.” 赖小民为你的罪而死 And so it is written.

If you asked me 4 years ago, I would have thought that Ivanka would have been the most viable Trump to successfully run for something. Now it's clearly DJTJ. Despite being an anthropomorphic line of coke, he clearly has identified the key appeal of his father, which is unfocused rage and resentment...

Or, put another way, in the case of the protection detail, a job that advertises as being so selfless that you're expected to take a bullet for your principal attracts people for whom absolute servility is their kink. In fairness to the US Secret Service, I think they sign up for the job in the bel...

Did anybody see the thread on Twitter about how for security's sake you have to assume there were foreign agents in amongst the rioters? (I can't find it at the moment). They were pointing out how many places in the Capitol they would have had unsupervised access to and for how long, and how many t...

Well, it looks like a second go-around on Impeachment, if only to lock the gate so he can't come back. I don't think he will be convicted this time around. I doubt the Blues will be able to find 17 Reds in the Senate to go along. Especially if McConnell as Senate Minority Leader is able to spin it o...
