In one of my parenting groups, a mom mentioned her son is into My Little Pony but wasn't sure if he should call himself a "brony" in case it had sexual connotations. A bunch of other people chimed in that yes, they're pretty sure it's an X-rated term. Somebody suggested, as a non-sexual alternative, "ponyboy"

Michael Bloomberg says the idea of legalizing marijuana is "the stupidest thing anybody has ever done".
Last year, in 2017, 72,000 Americans OD’d on drugs. In 2018, more people than that are OD-ing on drugs, have OD’d on drugs, and today, incidentally, we are trying to legalize another addictive narcotic, which is perhaps the stupidest thing anybody has ever done.
Not quite as stupid as giving that speech in 2019, perhaps...

Bill De Blasio, the man who thinks that all real estate should be under the control of the government, is now furiously trying to spin a lengthy outage of heat and hot water in NYCHA buildings on the coldest day of the year. His talking points basically boil down to "we fixed it in only nine hours this time" and "privately owned buildings had problems too!" and a bunch of NYCHA residents are basically calling him a liar on the nine hours thing too.

Northam should join the GOP.

Virginia's white AG now also admits to wearing blackface in college

All those times growing up as a kid in Virginia, I'd come home and my mother would tell me to scrub my filthy face, little did I know she was trying to preserve my political viability fifty years later!

Ralph Northam apparently. He figured he’d wait out every other white dude that lived in the 80s for their own blackface scandal.

I think DAR may be the only Virginian not involved with blackface in the 70s and 80s. And that may be because he was in Europe then.

I did not engage in blackface between my birth and leaving Virginia at age 3.

I cannot vouch for Sandy.

he might survive this simply because the other choices are contaminated and the other option is a republican. fucking bonkers.

I vote we take off and nuke Virginia from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

But what if the aftermath leaves some white people walking through a wasteland of ash and dust, and their faces get blackened?
