I've heard good things about the ones they hand pick out of goat poop.

A friend with very refined taste in coffee is having a birthday soon. Her husband said that she'd probably enjoy really good coffee beans, but neither he nor I have particularly refined coffee taste.

If I were to look for good coffee beans that a person with refined taste would enjoy, where would I look, and/or what would I look for?
find a local roaster/retailer, and unless the friend is really picky about it, maybe grab two or three bags of (whole bean only obviously) whatever's really fresh. do a single origin, a mid roast blend, and maybe a darker roast since you dont know what they like. does the husband know what she normally drinks?

some people are very picky about the roast level and would throw a fit if you bought a light or blonde roast, etc.

They hand-pick civets out of goat poop? This world is too weird for me.

It's more like cat poop. Only it's not really a cat, either, just a distant relative of cats.

This explains why dogs eat cat poop: they can't hold a coffee cup.

So you see a link someone shared on bookface or something and you click on it - you get redirected to a Congratulations Amazon User, You May Win a Prize, click OK to Spin the Wheel. There's no way out without closing the app.

It seems to happen for some sketchy sites and others I would not expect to be sketchy. Is that some sht on my phone like malware or what?

No, you are getting a "mobile redirect ad," which is a type of ad fraud. It started happening a TON last year, including to a lot of premium sites. It got so bad there were even consumer news stories about it: https://www.wired.com/story/pop-up-mobi ... stop-them/

It's mostly just annoying as hell because it prevents you from accessing the content you were trying to get to. Sometimes if I'm in Safari I'm able to hold the back button and get it far enough back that I don't have to actually close out.

Is there a reusable solution for ripening fruit like the paper bag but not made of paper? The closest I can find is the Avocado Sock, and I am not paying $18 + $7 shipping for a motherfucking sock.

The only trick I've ever heard is putting a banana in with other unripened fruit, and the ethylene (I think) vaping off the 'nanner helps ripen other stuff. No reason you can't do that in a plastic bag or tupperware-like container.

ETA - doesn't help if you don't like 'nanners tho'.

Ethylene "ripening" isn't really ripening thought. Putting stuff in a bag makes it turn color and rot, but it's not as good as leaving it sit alone on the counter a day or two and nowhere near as good as vine/tree ripened.

That supposedly works because it allows the ethylene to collect but the paper bag is still breathable, so I'm looking for a reusable solution that does the same thing without requiring me to keep paper bags (or plastic bags for that matter) on hand.

I think plastic bags and other sealed containers are bad because they encourage more rotting than ripening.

Something to try might be a muslin bag. That might be closed enough to allow the ethylene to collect without being unbreathable. Or maybe cotton drawstring produce bags

I mean a bag has got to be the least inconvenient possible solution. Potter wands aren't a thing.
