This is from the head of the College Board. I was agog for the first five minutes after reading it. CB is scum, but, like...this is some next level shit.

30+ is a big ol bucket man. Hall and Oates may not resonate.

ferreal. I'm 45 and I know maybe two H&O songs from my childhood, and I don't love them. I'm hardly a representative sample. I suppose it's inoffensive for adult-contemporary classics type listening? The Bird and the Bee show up in one of my Pandora stations, and they did an entire album of Hall and Oates covers, and I've had to winnow them out because no way way too smooth.

It would not resonate here. Maybe I'd get POC. Also, you need 30+ white and 30+ POC at a minimum. Like give me Sly and the Family Stone or P-Funk instead of fucking Hall and Oates if you treat me like an old man.

Same. I have the grim suspicion I might be happier with "fucking hipsters" than "30+" or "quiet ppl".

(But I know I'm an indie rock/pop bastard somewhere short of the cutting edge. It's just what happens.)

I can never remember what they sound like....

*plays a few of what Google Play considers their "top songs"*

Ah, the acoustic folk thing, and I kinda hate that vocal style. At least it's not the sigh-and-whisper-over-an-acoustic-guitar thing that was cropping up a few years back.

Watch me forget what they sound like in ten minutes...

iTunes has been serving me a bunch of Kool and the Gang and Isley Brothers recently, which are good accessible options if you think people can't handle Parliament.
