The makers of Deadpool seemingly think that oxygen can burn on its own without fuel, rather than being necessary for combustion.

Bad Santa 2 wasn't exactly better than its predecessor, but it wasn't worse, at least. Kathy Bates helped to entertain.

Keeping Up With The Joneses was vaguely entertaining, but I found either Zach Galifik...something or other, or his character deeply antifunny. Gal Godot was much funnier. And much easier on the eyes.

Wind River was a film directed by a writer.

It was pretty shit.

Finally got around to watching Zardoz. I know there were some posts on it in here a while ago and I'd realized I'd only seen bits and pieces of it. I also didn't realize it was directed by John Boorman of Excalibur fame. For the most part I found it surprisingly entertaining. Although, as I think someone pointed out, it's not quite as crazy as it's trying to be.

Also it has Charlotte Rampling in it which is a good thing.

It really isn't as bad as people sometimes make it out to be. I hadn't seen it until a couple years ago, and after all the years of seeing it as the butt of jokes I was pleasantly surprised to find it to be a perfectly serviceable science fiction movie of its time.

"Of its time" being a key phrase, there. It was not a good time for science-fiction movies, IMO. Although I will say at least it's reasonably competently directed, shot, and acted. Compare that to something like Starcrash, which I caught on MST3K the other day; Starcrash makes Zardoz look like King Lear.

Team JD. Zardoz is absolutely ludicrous, and it manages to be ludicrous while simultaneously trying to be trippy and, even worse, edgy.

It's so damn seventies.

I would kill any of you before I'd watch an Aki Kaurismäki movie.

Just out of curiosity, have you seen any of them? I've never seen any, but The Man Without a Past got excellent reviews.

Finally took FFF's advice and watched You're Next. Pretty good. An entertaining Netflix watch.

Finished rewatching Robocop (the original) for the first time in years. It's entertaining still, but the SFX are ancient.

This Sporting Life was half a good movie, but unfortunately Sigmund Freud directed the rest.

It was no North Dallas Forty.

A suitably cheesy track from the Jade soundtrack. That movie is a silly fucking mess, but it's still better than the indie and prestige boredom-fests you get today.

Frankenstein Unbound. The last movie Roger Corman directed, fun cast (John Hurt, Bridget Fonda, Raúl Juliá, Jason Patric, even Michael Hutchence didn't suck for a rock star trying to act), and unusually good music for this kind of movie. Gets great mileage out of the obviously limited special effects and props. It's a B-Movie, but definitely one of the best B-Movies I've ever seen. Fun.

Finally saw Blade Runner 2049. Pretty, but vacant. I don't get why anyone would want a sexual frustration projector.

The problem with The Seventh Sign is that it is contaminated with new age garbage, rather than being a proper Revelations based freak out.

LOL, if you don't you choose to live rather than to die in child-birth then you have condemned the entire world to death. You will never get to try again, you whore!

The hall of souls is full again because that mom died in child birth. Write it down, tell it all, abortion and contraception will lead us to annihilation. Quite unlike earth population 10 billion.

Every few years I watch Silence of the Lambs as a reminder of how bad it is, and how stupid Mann doubters are.

Manhunter is the only blu-ray I own. The only movie at all, actually.
