My parents live in Murray KY. It's not entirely dry anymore. I think the rule is, you can serve beer and wine if you get most of your revenue from food.

Hey Ellie :) Have I told you lately that I love you? And I mean that in a totally 'make us another Big Dance yahoo group' kind of way.

David (tymac) is not around here anymore, but you can be sure I will be harassing him about starting the Grylliade March Madness pool.

Awww shit!
And I was all pumped up, high on all my commissioner powers.
I'm keeping my group. I invite beg everyone to join.
I have a custom scoring that uses Fibonacci multiplier by round plus an upset incentive equal to the difference in seed number.
Plus you can have as many as 5 different brackets.

Everyone should join the group tymac created, because I also created it (circa 2008)

I haven't even looked at the bracket yet, but um, Go Duke!

Thank you Mo and AR for participating in my Brackets of Awesomeness. (There's still time and the water's fine, come on down!)
Though I wouldn't give you a plug nickle on any of it after last year's Cinderella Rampage, and this year three no. 1 seeds didn't even win their own conference tournament. Not to mention some of the teams I've been keeping an eye on have been wildly inconsistent. I don't feel at all confident in my brackets despite having watched a good deal of ball.

This year I did something I never do. I went with the local favorites. Next year Mizzou will be leaving the Big 12 for the SEC. This will end their long standing rivalry with Kansas. KS is PO'd about it and has said they won't schedule MO next year (or ever?) They split this year in two of the best games I've seen all season. As this is Tiger country I watched a number of Missouri games. They are a seriously strong team. They have a strong defense, can play in transition, work the paint, and rain from behind the arc, and most of all they are over 75% from the stripe going in. The only way they meet KS is in the championship game. I really want to see that story book ending, so I picked them both.

Hey, who are you to argue with decades of Syracuse tradition? Corruption is as much a part of Syracuse athletics as academics aren't.

Oh, now I get it, the round of 64 is now called 'the second round' and the four play-in's are all called 'the first round'

This Duke failure means I'm going to have to start cheering for Syracuse. I don't like that. I picked them because Blue Devils vs Orangemen seemed sensible, but I don't like them. At least its better than Georgetown being victorious. I HATE those guys.

And this is why it is important to develop loyalties based on shallow reasons. It improves your enjoyment of March Madness way better.

You may be the only person on the face of the planet besides Syracuse grads who like Syracuse better than Georgetown.

Syracuse (and that cheating dick Boeheim) can fall off the planet, imo.

Hey, I said these were shallow reasons. Technically, I shouldn't hate Georgetown because my old roommate went there, but he was a grad student in romantic poetry, so that barely counts. More importantly an ex boyfriend is in med school there, so I can't be pro-Georgetown.

Syracuse I have nothing against. A very nice person I know has that last name. And I know another nice person who went there.

Please, I choose Xavier every year because I did cat sitting for a cat named Xavier 5 years ago and I go against Butler (though they're not in it this year) because there's a feminist political theorist named Judith Butler and I hate everything she says.

I've hated Georgetown's basketball program since John Thompson and the Patrick Ewing days. Trust me, there are plenty of Hoya haters.
