My sister’s wedding, a cousin and his fiancé/wife ( can’t remember her status then) flew down from Nova Scotia with a box of live lobsters that we had for the rehearsal dinner. As carryon luggage. (This was summer 2001, so right before...that thing)

Oh, we were on good terms. I just, you know, had been getting it without paying for it.

(And it would have made her sad if I'd offered to, I think; she was always uncomfortable with my desire to pay for things while we were dating, because it made her feel like I was trying to buy her affection and she already had tons of guys trying to do that. Whereas I was actually trying to buy her food because she did not have much income.)

That part, I completely believe.

I got that it was a reference, but I couldn't place it without googling.

I tried to figure that one out, but gave up. I think it was about fans of a singer pirating a streamed concert?

Really, I just want little blurbs explaining what Twitter trends even are. When I click on them, I usually have to scroll through several screens of "Why is this trending?" tweets. I felt like a damn detective when I figured out one time that Watershio Down had started trending because there was a meme quiz about listing the scariest cartoons.

(Maybe with little icons. A TV for "this old movie is trending locally because it's on TV", a Russian flag for "It's 9am in Russia, that's why this political thing/offensive generation divide meme is suddenly being pushed in the middle of the night", etc.)

Jad,

Here's the problem. We ALL got the reference. The question is .... is it THE reference we all got or something only a Jadagul would understand from an enigmatic reference that is prevalent in only the world you live in?

I don't know man. I don't know.

The dumbfuck is griping about journalists getting Noble (sic) Prizes for reporting on the Russia scandal.

Without rallies, TV rambles or golf he's going to crack. He might even take Twitter with him. Win-win!

He just needs a nice, soothing Lysol injection. And maybe a chlorine gas sauna. That should fix everything.

I am a bit curious to see if the journos who got pulitzers initially or later participated in the absurdity that reporting on russiagate became. I'm guessing one of them was the early piece by the NYT confirming the meeting timeline.
