Although, I'm starting to lose my patience with idiots marveling that social media shows us what angers and frightens us. Where have these people been during the last century and a half of journalism?

Reading the other replies to the original.... Will, as always, young people tend to be deeply unreflective and unable to generalize or compare... And, of course, deeply fucking selfish, wanting things and being morally offended by the idea of paying for them. That's part of the bougie college-age attraction to leftism, because at that point in their lives, taxes are something other people pay.

"Discrim" as in discrimination. I believe he is trying to show with his data that white liberals who are heavily online, as opposed to those that aren't, have a much higher rate where they believe discrimination is the answer when asked about reasons for minority difficulties. Like Mo said age could be a factor and I don't know from the tweets whether he took that into account. However, both moderate and conservative opinions remained flat regardless of internet usage. So if age were a major factor you would think you would see changes there as well.

I thought the whole point of Twitter going to 280 characters was that we wouldn't have to deal with confusing abbreviations anymore! ;)

I despise Twitter for several reasons. That the character limit is one of them, but people posting thousand word essays 280 characters at a time is an even bigger one.
