I seem to recall Dave Weigel having a fairly good-looking face (in a "cute and non-threatening so that pre-pubsecent girls are likely to have a crush on him" kind of way). Why the HELL does he insist on that 70s-porn-star hairstyle and mustache?

His profile pic on twitter is his disembodied hair and mustache, so clearly it’s his brand.

Which made me kind of wince because, well before Weigel decided to make a logo out of his disembodied head-hair, that wretch of a Roosh did it first.

I don't think either were the first to do that, if it helps.

Not really, alas. Where my own personal awareness of that motif is concerned, the order is "Hitler -- Roosh -- Weigel." Some first (and second) impressions are so bad, you never can get over them.

Mrs. McGrath most of time annoys me; I see her stuff because I follow her husand, an ex Navy Captain who most of the time writes about Navy stuff. (But also sometimes very conservative, but also always anti-Trump, politics)

Eta - oh, I might not have that relationship correct *at all*. But it did fit the facts I had in my head.

I was totally serious until the edit which was made because I discovered exactly that fact.

Edit - that is, I thought she was a real person, though always being ironic and sarcastic, being ideologically and personally adjacent to someone else I follow (because of the same name and other mutual follows)
