Every time I think the Republican party has collectively reached rock bottom, they prove me wrong again.

Makes you miss the days anarchists threw bombs at politicians instead of just being the smug hipster socialists.
So long as we're stuck with a two-party system, I'd at least like to see both parties be more-or-less sane, rather than have one be the Raving Loony Party. Because for all that the Democrats suck, they're not likely to improve until after the Republicans do, because the Dems don't HAVE to; all they have to do is be less obviously bugnuts than the GOP.

I'm not sure I understand this response in context with what I said... But perhaps we could take it behind the veil, as I moved my original post.

The response was more a building on what I said before. Reading political news about Republicans these days -- it used to be I needed to smoke a LOT of weed to feel this level of WTFery. Now I am completely sober, and just have to read the mainstream media political news.

I agree with Radley Balko's take on this clusterfuck: "As a libertarian, I've voted for candidates from the LP as well as from both major parties. But I can't remember wanting one party to lose as badly as I want the GOP to lose in November. They basically need to start from scratch."

I can pretty much guarantee it will, unless and until the Republicans and their enablers get their shit together. Because realistically, we only have two choices to vote for, and the GOP has gone out of its way to turn itself into the "insane bigot white supremacist science-hating party."

Then we just need a big graham cracker and a lot of chocolate.

And fire.

There's "incel'allah" for you... interestingly, as written, this phrase apparently translates to "God's forgiveness." There's probably a lesson to be had in that, for anyone who cares enough to try and figure out what it might be.

Between the Zuckerberg hearing showing our senators have no fucking idea how technology works, and this Diamond & Silk one showcasing social media stars' being completely ignorant of governmental regulation, never let it be said that we don't deserve the government we elect. We deserve it good and hard.
