I would like to try a mangosteen, after seeing Phil Rosenthal raving about them in the Bangkok episode of Somebody Feed Phil.
Are those the mangos that control the fruit world from behind the scenes?

Mangosteen are delicious. It’s a super popular flavor of Asian gum and candy. Similar somewhat to lychee

In the category of "Fruits That Kill With Gravity" I really like jackfruit. It hits all of the right notes. Tropical, floral, texture is interesting but not slimy. Bonus: if you buy a whole one you can break out the machete to get into it.

If you don't like juicy fruit gum this is not the fruit for you.
That statement makes me seriously want to try a jackfruit. At an Asian supermarket once, I bought a bag of dried "jackfruit chips" but was not impressed at all -- I don't even remember what they tasted like, only that I wasn't interested in buying more. But your statement makes me reconsider trying a piece of the fresh stuff.
