Yeah, I looked to another source for my inspiration. A different king, and his band of knights, and their strategy when things got a little too rough in their quest for The Holy Grail.
Don't forget that if things get bad, you can always eat Robin's minstrels.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a great game except for all the annoying shit that makes me think that each separate panel, UI element, and game mechanic was developed by entirely silo'd teams who never met each other. There are so many frustrating not-quite-bugs that proccing F5 for quick save is the OP play style.

A) this game freezes a lot on my system and that's super frustrating because of how saves work

B) archery is stupid hard

I would totally play a game where I just ran around getting stuff for the Witcher 3 cave trolls and talking to them. I think my favorite quest was finding some paint to paint a standard for a cave troll who decided he was in the army while standing around "singing" marching songs.

Looks neat, but I'm wondering why they went with the hard "Mega Action Movie Trailer" cut, music, and ambience. Seems a little overly dramatic and combative when they're talking about togetherness and drawing in families and casuals. I mean, I know those things can get cutthroat, but seems like you're scaring them away with that kind of promo.

Yeah I was wondering about that too. It's to the point where you start to think they are trying to hide something under all the quick cuts. Like show the product or at least the concept a little more.

Also Tommy Tallarico's weird tan makes me laugh.

Untitled Goose Game does look pretty funny, honestly. You're a goose, and your task is to fuck with people. How could you go wrong with that?

Have you guys seen Disco Elysium? The start of it is amazing. Completely bananas stats. You have skills like “electrochemistry” that determine the effects when you take drugs. Putting on bell bottoms buffs that skill. The whole game changes based on your available skills. Text heavy with a painted sensibility to the environment somewhat open world super heavy role play.

Yeah I saw that. It looks really cool. Although he doesn't typically play RPGs I thought our mutual lawman friend might be interested in it.

As part of my re-kindled interest in hockey*, I've taken up NHL '94, as this seems to be the classic one everyone likes akin to Tecmo Bowl for football.

I don't understand the love. Feels like 75% of trips down the ice result in a face-off because the idiot AI can't keep my own guys from offsides. It's not fun at all.

(*the double whammy of my team moving to Dallas of all places and the '94 lockout kinda killed my enthusiasm)

Both of them (Tecmo and NHL '94) are popular because you could just scorescorescorescore. It's get the fastest guys on your team, stick them out there on the lines together, and then just breakaway again and again.

I ended up following someone on Twitter doing pinball table reviews in Pinball Arcade, so I got interested in playing pinball, and got Pinball FX3 and some tables. And I have to agree with the consensus that Medieval Madness is possibly the best pinball machine. It is so much fun. Trolls, dragons, castle, multiball after multiball, rescuing damsels, destroying the castle, peasant uprisings. Just lots of fun.
