Shot in the dark: does anyone know of a simple side-scroller for the Xbox One? Modspawn played Never Alone with his uncle and really really liked it, but I found the graphics too realistic and got all upset whenever something bad would happen to the little girl or the fox  so I wanted to find him something similar, without a lot of strategy, mostly jumping around.
Ori and the Blind Forest is supposed to be very good. Looks really good and probably will appeal to younger audiences.

Unravel looks cute. Has decent reviews.

Limbo is a classic. Although I don't know if the visuals are too dark for modspawn.

Are midrange GPUs all prohibitively expensive now, thanks to crypto-currency mining?

The price difference between a GTX 1050 and 1060 is insane.

I doubt it. GPUs are too slow and inefficient. BtC mining is all ASIC now. Maybe Ethereum though.

You may recall reviewbrah from this blessed image:

I don't, but I have seen a review of his. I clearly don't spend enough time plumbing the depths of 4chan and basically being blackpilled.

So that's an odd collection--two murderers, one who keeps claiming to be one, and then...reviewbrah. Huh.

I get this stuff 2nd or 3rd hand from reddit/forums etc. It's all very silly, but can be funny.

From AMD's earnings call Q&A today:
Q: "Crypto was helping the GPU side, tis a double edged sword - is there any way to manage the risk of the miners & second hand purchases?"

A: "Better performance due to rx 5xx series, and well positioned to do gaming & crypto, we are working on replenishing inventory, and working on the game market - which is a core market for us. Aiming supply towards that market specifically, working with major retailers to make that happen with Radeon products. We didn't have crypto in our forecast, and its not seen as a long term growth driver, but we will keep an eye on it regardless."
Classic AMD planning.

Oh, I love me some dank memes. I just didn't know some of those or that particular meme. Which is funny, because I know some incredibly carcinogenic memes.

Looks like the new AMD Vega cards have the same compute perf/watt as the Nvidia equivalents (AMD have higher compute perf and higher power consumption at the same price). Video game perf will depend on drivers. Same as usual.

Next year's AMD cards are supposed to be their big step up.

In a huge shock to no one, AMD has launched a new line of GPUs with far from finished drivers.

coin miners don't care about drivers.

ETA:
Update: As of 10am ET, Newegg's entire allocation of Vega 64 cards has sold through. This includes the stand-alone cards and the bundled cards. Indications are that Newegg's stock of cards sold through in under 15 minutes.

Why be inconvenienced with actual labor while working towards enlightenment? Do it from the comfort of your own desk or lap.

Walden, a game, is a first person simulation of the life of American philosopher Henry David Thoreau during his experiment in self-reliant living at Walden Pond. The game begins in the summer of 1845 when Thoreau moved to the Pond and built his cabin there.

Players follow in his footsteps, surviving in the woods by finding food and fuel and maintaining their shelter and clothing. At the same time, players are surrounded by the beauty of the woods and the Pond, which hold a promise of a sublime life beyond these basic needs. The game follows the loose narrative of Thoreau’s first year in the woods, with each season holding its own challenges for survival and possibilities for inspiration.

Does the game have a button for sending your laundry into town to be done by your mother over the weekend?
