I found it a pleasant diversion but had no real expectation. It was kinda there.

I've seen it. It's exactly what you'd expect from a 70's robocalypse movie.

Fathom Events is showing 6 Studio Ghibli movies from June to November, one a month. Sunday afternoons are dubbed, but Monday evenings are subbed. Buy tickets for all 6, and they reduce the price to 60 dollars.

My Neighbor Totoro
Kiki's Delivery Service
Castle in the Sky
Nausicaa
Spirited Away
Howl's Moving Castle

Definitely going to try for Spirited Away. Of course that's in October. Better put that in the calendar because I'm not going to remember that.

It's gonna be hard not to think "Christopher Nolan's Pearl Harbor" going into this one.

I'm pretty sure, "Airbrushed a valkyrie on a van," is a requirement to do VFX for Thor: Ragnarok.

IIRC, some of the designs are straight out of Jack Kirby's art in various comics. Apropos for his 100th birthday.

Evidently David S. Goyer is going to write or direct the new He-Man movie. A He-Man movie is a bad idea anyways, but a grimdark He-Man will be legendarily bad.
