This Hell or High Water movie, based on reviews, may be manna from heaven in this shitty movie summer.

The reviews have me interested, and the cast looks good.

The trailer is kind of obnoxious in trying to contextualize it for ugly American audiences. But it looks like a solid movie.

I have my doubts that Marion Cotillard can convincingly play a French woman, but otherwise sign me up for Robert Zemeckis Brad Pitt Nazi Movie.

Fuck. I love the premise. And I never heard of the hot black engineers of the Space Program. Would love to see a movie about their story. But damn, it's just too much MESSAGE

Amazon Prime Video has a pilot of a new The Tick series.

Too bad. The one with Patrick Warburton was pretty good, as I recall. Another promising Fox show killed before it's time.

Indeed. In some ways, I liked it better than the animated version.

I didn't like the animated version, though I have only seen a little, as it was so bad I couldn't watch it. I didn't try until years after it was released and after I had seen the Warburton version.

Looks pretty good for a trippy western/Matrix/robot revolution series. Probably still not worth the price of an HBO subscription.

For Spirited Away's 15th Anniversary, they're showing it subtitled in theaters (on Monday December 5th), including the one in my town. My wife might even want to go for that one.

There's a screening of the dubbed version on Sunday the 4th, but that's at noon, so probably will have a lot more kids.

Ooh, neat...and of course, it's Monday.

It's still not clear how close the format is to the old show, but it's got Clarkson, May, and Hammond. And also this guy:

Not really. But only because they started hitting the self parody part of the TV show lifecycle. They basically went full Flanderization (warning TV Tropes) on the whole cast.
