It looks...maybe? It's directed by the same chick who did Monster and not much else. I haven't seen that movie so i don't know what to expect.

Gal's got the look down pat. I don't know if she can act though. Prior credits look like she was in the Fast & Furious movies which I've only seen bits of. She was in the Batman v Superman movie but they didn't have her do much and everybody else was mediocre to bad in that.

I think as long as Zack Snyder steps back aways it has a chance.

I'd be happy if Chris Pine were a Canadian in this.

Affleck is no longer directing the Batman movie, though he will continue to play the character. Which is kind of a shame because he's a pretty solid director. Let's hope WB locks down someone decent before Zack Snyder runs out of coke and decides he's got nothing better to do.

I'm totally into Justice League and the DCU and even I got bored watching that.

It just looks so incredibly desperate.

Also there just isn't a way to make Aquaman cool.

On the one hand, those are pretty proper Parademons, and they're certainly trying to make it look like there's chemistry between the characters. On the other hand, everything else. Does everything happen in sewers or at night?
JasonL wrote:They basically went with make him Namor.
Nah, the key aspect of Namor is that he's arrogant as fuck. This is a more biker-y version of 90s Aquaman.

I just wonder what fraction of the comedy in the movie has already shown up in the trailers.

I would watch that
Batgirl is flying solo. The superheroine is getting her own standalone movie from filmmaker Joss Whedon.

Whedon is nearing a deal to write, direct, and produce an untitled Batgirl pic for Warner Bros. as part of its DC Extended Universe.

I would, too, but Whedon was also "nearing a deal" to do that for Wonder Woman, so don't get too excited. Basically, it's in Development Hell until something gets signed, and even then, a movie might not happen.

I won't believe DC is really doing it until they tap Paul Feig to write and direct.

Here's my perspective as the father of a 4 yo boy. DC's animated stuff like the old 90s Batman: The Animated Series and the associated spin-offs are so far above anything Marvel has done for TV it's painful. Most of them are available streaming or are cheap enough I can buy the DVDs. So my kid loves Batman. He's all in on DC, far more than I ever was. But the latest spate of movies? Urgh. But I'll watch them, mainly to see if I'm good with letting him watch them.

Have you watched Batman: The Brave and the Bold yet? (David is all excited based on the voice cast but we haven't found it streaming anywhere yet, and we're too cheap/poor to buy it.)
I should have listened to Warren. He was right again as usual.

No, that's on the list for consideration as well as Batman:Beyond. Netflix does TAS/TNBA, Superman, both Justice Leagues, Young Justice, and the weird The Batman series from '04-'08. It's been enough to keep him entertained for now. An additional bonus is that they don't annoy me, so I don't mind having them on.

Batman:Beyond was really good IIRC, which was surprising as the setup seemed like a cheap way to stuff a teenager into the role of Batman. It had a neat cyberpunk kind of atmosphere that's works really well with Batman's noir roots and the gadgets Batman is known for actually seem more plausible in the future setting. Also old grizzled curmudgeon Bruce Wayne is the best Bruce Wayne.

Batman Beyond is excellent. As is Justice League/JL Unlimited. If you haven't seen it yet, the Green Lantern computer animated series is also really good.
