That's why we have this whole thread with the "no dbs" sign right on top.

The MCU has achieved Pixar level of consistent excellence. Even so, not everybody likes everything. I didn't like Ant Man.
I might very well skip Dr. Strange. Nothing about it looks appealing. It looks like it's trying way too hard for me, it's just too much. I'll see what people are saying once it's out.

Dr. Strange is the first MCU movie since Iron Man that I might see.

Winter Soldier was superb. I'd list The Avengers as a prerequisite though.

Awesome
From Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the potential project is based on Brian K. Vaughan (Y: The Last Man) and Adrian Alphona's series. It centers on a group of teens who discover that their parents are part of an evil crime organization.

Runaways, written by Schwartz and Savage, will focus on six diverse teens who can barely stand each other but who unite to fight a common foe: their parents.

Of course you do, they're lackeys of inhuman monsters who want to exterminate humanity. :D

I'm amused and in for this series. The comic was fun.

Lackys schmackys, so long as those damned kids get what's coming to them. Since that's not the way shows work, I think I'll pass.

Wow, uh, that is a different tone for a Wolverine movie. But people seemed to dig Old Man Logan, so we'll see how it goes. Is that girl going to end up being X-23 or what?

I likes it, but assumed it's a tribute to some other image I'm not aware of.

I don't think it's a direct tribute to anything specific. It has the vibe of a Ramones or other punk band picture style to me.

A good number of episodes in the first season were directed by women. I don't really expect a problem, as long as the show runner/creator (a woman) keeps the vision strong, it should work.

Yeah, I'm not worried that the directors are women, I'm worried that they're directors because they're women. JJ season the first was the market. The last thing the MCU needs is someone throwing an agenda on it.

Huh?

In any event, the best crude heuristic a smart producer could come up with is hiring women directors exclusively (including giving first shot). The gender imbalance in Hollywood is so ridiculous that there is just an huge amount of talent left on the table.
