Nope, it was losing to Pitt.
Didn't stop Clemson.

In fairness, Alabama's greatest defense evar was spotted >30 points.

2018 update - Bama's kicker went full Bernie when he needed to keep it Doug Jones.

I had to google because the only Doug Jones I know is the guy who plays all the weird supernatural characters in Guillermo del Toro movies.
I should have listened to Warren. He was right again as usual.

That was a remarkable throw by a freshman who had like 12 snaps in his college career before being put in the national championship game at halftime down by 10. Among professional players I eyeroll at the clutch narrative, but it's for sure a thing that kids get wild eyed in big spots.

It annoys the hell out of me when teams go away from what was working and play conservatively to sit on a two score lead. There's NFW that lead is safe, even against a mediocre team, let alone in a championship situation.

And then there's the Atlanta Falcons to bring in the other side of the argument...

They were up by 4 scores. The clock is a major ally in that situation. Scoring 2 TDs in 4 minutes, while difficult is not uncommon.
