It just hit me. Mr. T was the Samuel L. Jackson of the 80s.
No that would be... no wait, he was the 70's. Eddie Murphy? Hmm... Maybe he was.
A-Team was in the 80s

Hmm, I think I can accept that. Charles Bronson was the Danny Trejo of the 70s.

Nah, Charles Bronson was on his way up in the 70s and had plenty of starring roles. B movies, but they were still his, and they generally made money. And that's after being part of big ensemble mega hits in the 60s (Magnificent Seven, Great Escape, Dirty Dozen, Once Upon a Time in the West). The 80s were when he did all the Death Wish sequels.

Trejo hasn't had anywhere near the career.

Solo was a pretty good movie, but at the same time...I watched Han Solo die. I also know who he married. It's a little challenging to get too wrapped up in the stakes of a movie in that situation.

Solo was fun. I'm not bothered by him dying fifty years later.

Big ups for mentioning every single Landon Calrissian adventure. Not perfect because they didn't use the word "ThonBoka."

Plot-wise it all holds together. Problems are limited to treating Han's space dice like Indy's hat, doing all the stuff we know about Han, and a problematic resurrection, but these are quibbles.

Is the movie about him doing the Kessel Run? And if not, why not? :geek:
I should have listened to Warren. He was right again as usual.

Yes. That's not geeky, it's basic as hell.

GOOD.

Also, man, I did not have a particular crush on Donald Glover before, but every movie still I see of him as Lando makes my panties evaporate.

I'm not bothered by it, it just took some of the edge off the movie. Was still a decent show.

Enjoy this trailer from The Empire Strikes Back, with Harrison Ford trying the standard cheesy voiceover!

Is it me or is that a really weird font choice for the title at the very end (and in the preview pic)?

Also, it's amusing how non-romantic the portions designed to sell "romance" are.

Watch old trailers and remember the world in which all of the story was given away in the four minute run time.

Unrelated but the wife and kid rewatched rogue one yesterday and that ending sequence is tight as hell.

Fuck all the cgi Leia face shit but my wife forgot that Peter Cushing was necromancered for this flick.

Still tho probably the best sw movie.

Solo was ok. The first big heist scene with Woody Harrelson was kind of dull. A lot of other parts were good. Lando stole the show.

I cannot imagine how stoked Donald Glover must have been when he was tapped to play Lando.

The Darth Maul resurrection was dumb. Yeah, I know, they did it in some of the cartoons, and in the Expanded Universe everyone everywhere is resurrected and cloned and umpteen bazillion other things, but still. There was no need to go there.

From the faint praise department:

I liked Solo better than The Last Jedi.
