Chapo is discovering the price of success. Get big enough and you have to do the whole guilt performance for a mild bit:

I've been enjoying Wine and Crime lately -- it's pretty well researched compared to the shit that is My Favorite Murder. However, it's definitely in the genre of "friends trying to crack each other up and getting distracted" type podcasts, where you'll either be charmed by their shtick or want to punch them all within five minutes. I am charmed, obviously. The incredibly thick Minnesota accents help.
I should have listened to Warren. He was right again as usual.

This weeks bonus 5thCol is pretty good. Moynihan's mass transit induced tirade is more entertaining than usual. As always Kmele brings the enlightened perspective.

The last premium episode of Cum Town was incredible. Mullen was roasted on coke and ranted for an hour about hollywood pedos and pizzagate. Gold.

The latest episode of Your Kickstarter Sucks was very good. Especially the “Buttress” discussion.

Roman Mars is terrible in a way that falsely leads me to think I can tolerate him because I'm interested in the subject matter.

He keeps showing up and ruining design podcasts.

He stops in the middle of a perfectly good piece on automobile safety and talks about how insane it is that "our automobiles have such strict safety measures and regulations, because of Nader, but nothing of the sort for guns because of the NRA". Then he serves back to auto safety without missing a beat.

He's dropped non-sequiter progressive talking points in at least a few episodes of 99% Invisible, and also in Imaginary Worlds. It's like having fnords shoved under my fingernails.

But I came to you all today to bring almost two hours of Sam Harris talking anti-natalism with a Afrikaans accent blues. http://pca.st/d3N5

I can only vouch for the first 20-30 minutes, but so far Harris argues against the notion, and they have some good discussion about Buddhism. I thought people here *cough* nicole might enjoy it.

yeah, i mean i'm not going to seek him out on anything too hard. and i regularly tell people that design is the invisible language that runs the world. (apropos to the above, i avoid sam harris for the same reason)

but i think that particular tic is rather pronounced in most podcasts. maybe not the raison or whatever, but definitely part of the flavor that endears them to enthusiasts / alienates them from non-enthusiasts.

I downloaded it last week but I’m not sure I’m prepared for two hours of Sam Harris.
