TRUE FACT: For its first three decades, Red Baron Pizza would not produce any pizzas with Canadian Bacon on them due to the fact that Manfred von Richthofen was thought to have been killed by a Canadian pilot. The founder of the Schwan Food Company, the producer of Red Baron pizza, Marvin Schwan, did not hate Canadians, but because the Red Baron was a personal hero of his, he would not put a "Canadian" topping on his pizza. Marvin Schwan died in 1993, but the company continued to honor his wishes. Then, in the late 1990s, it was determined that, based on the fatal wound, an Australian on the ground almost certainly killed the Ace. Red Baron Pizza started shipping Hawaiian-style pizza in 2000. Schwan Foods doesn't operate in Australia or sell any "Australian" foods, though it is doubtful that this is anything more than coincidence, given the company's moderate size.
