I couldn't get into Preacher. It felt like there really wasn't a point other than shocking the conservative minded people who weren't watching it.

From my reading this is basically how most of Garth Ennis's stuff can be summarized.

I mean, that's pretty much an integral part of Garth Ennis' work, but there's more to it in everything by him I've read.

Bosch was a bust. Quit watching half way through ep 3. Honestly, "I've got too much testosterone to play by the rules" detective is so not my thing.

OTOH there's a seam of PBS American Experience I've been mining. Leopold and Loeb was highly educational.

Been watching some of the new network TV fare this season. I'm lukewarm on the Unicorn, despite liking Walton Goggins (and the rest of the sorta bigish names in the cast). Though this as far as I know the first straight up comedy he's ever done.

I like Carol's Second Act with Patricia Heaton (of Everyone Loves Raymond & The Middle fame - I don't think I ever saw an episode of the latter)

I also like All Rise, the ensemble cast of mostly unknowns (except the CSI woman) works pretty well together.

Ladies in Black was delightful for a Brit. period chick flick.

First ep of Carnival Row and I'm all in. Fantasy Steampunk. It looks amazeballz and the characters live.
