Mindhunter is good. Holt McCallany and Anna Torv good. Soundtrack is very nice.
I like the character of the main character's girlfriend.

Enjoyed watching their interaction while she instructs him during cunnilingus.

Was set to argue when I heard Steve Miller Band, but then came Talking Heads.

I really like the mood and tone set by the theme as well.

I watched the first episode. Does the sound mixing get better? Maybe I'm just going deaf, but it sounded like loud mush. Very quiet dialog and very loud backgrounds/music (and I don't mean the live band scene).

I think it does. I needed subtitles in the 1st ep. 1st ep is also the slowest.

Not sure why the fired principal is supposed to be an object of sympathy. A myriad of people tell you your behavior with kids is inappropriate, you should stop, even if you're not doing anything illegal.

Okay, there were points where I could've used subtitles, so maybe it's not just me.

I was fine with the pacing and thought some parts were too fast/blunt/obvious. I'll definitely give it a few more episodes. The cinematography and composition was enjoyable to watch.

I know there's no drama without tension, but the unit director seems like a real prude, even accounting for the time period.

I am watching the first episode and finding the pacing super slow (yes you and your girlfriend have a lot of sex, we gettttttttt ittttttttttttttt) peppered with scenes wherein Detective Obvious and Special Agent Infodump explain the zeitgeist and premise of the show to each other.

But I hear it picks up the pace soon, so I will endure it.

Also, I hadn't realized it was so fictionalized and had assumed it would be just like the book, maybe a little dramatized, but basically a biography of John Douglas and his cases. I'm going, who the fuck is Holden? Go away, you little twerp!
I should have listened to Warren. He was right again as usual.

They should let one of their monsters do away with the Catholic/Quaker piece of shit. Very annoying character.
Another prude. Provides tension for drama within the team, but can be sacrificed.

Also, it seems like he says "counterculture" way too much. According to the Google Ngram viewer it was pretty well in use by then, but even so. It's every third word out of his mouth, I swear.

Do you feel like you're facing a new kind of murderer? Do you feel like you don't understand their motive? Because you haven't mentioned it in the past two minutes

Mood, tone, cinematography were good.

Acting was ok,

Characterization was uneven as was plot arc. Resolution not satisfactory.

I knew from the subject matter that this was going to be pretty grim, but I wasn't expecting full-color photographs of a raped and murdered child. Jesus Christ, Netflix.

I'm pretty excited for the Ed Kemper visit, though. That's a great scene from the book.

That really is the most unrealistic part of the show, a desirable woman who likes to bone a lot.

The first couple of episodes of The Gifted are actually quite good, despite being the typical (by now) mutants hunted by the government story line.

It's got an interesting take of a prosecutor who normally puts the screws on mutants having the screws put on him.

Plus it's got Amy Acker, who is my pretend TV waifu.
