I'm guessing that the roaming thunderstorms are going to scare off the guys who were supposed to clean the gutters on my house today. After I've been waiting for 4 weeks already. Hopefully doesn't get pushed off too long.

Yeah, because I don't want to be 3 stories up cleaning the gutter (again). I did that once. Screw that. They'll come do it for 140 dollars.

And they did show up today.

We made an offer for a patch of dirt and they accepted. Now to finish financing and get the architect working.

YAY! Now please please shave ALL the details of the home designing / building process as they unfold. I've always wanted a backseat to that. Or a front-row seat? Whatever. You know what I mean. I'll bring popcorn.

It's mostly going to be a thread of my dreams dying as I realize we can't afford what we really want.

Those are pretty epic.

So I take it that you're treating this as a scrape? Completely removing the existing structures and starting over from bare earth?

Someday we'll get off our ass and do it too. We may have to pay nearly twice as much for land as we were planning, as it turns out we are both slightly less flexible in location and associated internet quality etc than we first assumed, and land within that range / zone is pretty expensive for around here. We have not yet contemplated buy and bulldoze.

Yeah, at 953 square feet or whatever the original house is, it’s just not worth keeping. It’s pier and beam foundation, too, so demo should be cheap.

We didn’t ask about the characters, so I guess we’ll see what they leave.

There has to be something choking the line. Possibly mineral deposits. Have you tried removing the spigots? You might get lucky and find the clog.

seems like a likely choice, maybe. talked with hvac guy and he said to call again if it's actively not working again, because there's a whole bunch of possible wackiness as well.
