Unfortunately it is less funny that China is trying to censor it from the internet. It's also likely the woman no longer has a job.

that is an unusually awful thing to say to someone else in public because you saw them in a movie.

Why? Is it a fine thing to say if you saw them in dinner theater?

One additional layer of unreality. But it's never acceptable as a greeting.

Yeah, I can only deep-tissue cringe at something like that.

This made me laugh.

I judge it a mitigating, not aggravating, layer. It should be explicitly stated, written down, perhaps even carved in stone, that when one chooses to pursue a career in which people purchase tickets to watch one's job performance, forfeits all aspirations of privacy. That any and all aspects of a performers life are suitable for public consumption. Furthermore, one explicitly agrees to subject themselves to the judgment of audience and critics, which are subsets in which all elements may claim membership. Said judgment is subject only to the subjective standards and criteria whims of the one that judges. Therefore, if one accepts the role of bun haired, fresh faced, dewy eyed, fair badass, the manifestation of which induces nerdgasms in generation after generation of nerdlingers, then being periodically approached by random nerds wishing to express their gratitude and describing in detail the quantity and viscosity of ejaculate which they attribute said performance, is an imposition one simply must accept. Which is not to say, nor imply, that said nerdlingers protestations are not gross violations of the social compact, the inability to comprehend much less heed being a defining characteristic of the nerdling grouping. Merely that it is of lesser grossness when directed at someone they saw in a movie as opposed to anyone else.
