No. The local weather channel gives you the option to choose and I decided on Fahrenheit to avoid confusion among the United Statesians.

I had a brunch planned two weeks ago but there was so much snow in the forecast that I postponed. It didn't snow. The brunch is planned for this Saturday instead. Of course, there's a bunch of snow in the forecast...

I'm not in Denver right now, but my wife is. Apparently even Downtown is having power outages.

Breakup is here and damned early. Lows in the high 20s/low 30s and highs in the mid 40s.

Joe is a good horse name. My mom's horse was named Bob.

Yesterday I glanced up from a book I was reading and noticed the shelves on the bookcase nearest the open patio door looked EXTREMELY dusty-- like, bad enough that even from across the room, sans glasses, in overcast-gray daylight, it was really really obvious that bare shelf was not-clean. (Not that my place would pass the white-glove test under regular circumstances anyway, but it's not usually THAT bad.)

So I get a rag, spray dusting polish on it, attack the shelves -- and no, that was not a thick layer of dust; 'twas a thick layer of yellow pollen that presumably came in trough the patio door. (Also, that pollen apparently repels dusting polish, rather than sticking to it.)

I don't remember itbeing that bad our previous springs here. I mean, everything outside turning yellow was standard -- but inside next to a (slightly) open window? Faugh.

April 5, just after 6 pm: first air-conditioning of the season. (I wouldn't need AC if I could open the windows and run some fans; but I can't do that because the outside air is too thick with yellow pollen.)

After an exceptionally dry March, the forecast said rain starting Tuesday night, so I got fertilizer and spread it over my horse's pasture on Tuesday. We got a few minor showers, but nowhere near enough to wash the fertilizer into the soil, so I have to keep my horse off his pasture until the rain actually materializes.

I'm not sure where you grew up but did you guys have "love bug" season? I know it's a common issue in FL from the panhandle to Tampa at least.

Not in SC where I grew up, but I have driven along 301 through Georgia into central Florida during love bug season. Just such a rude way to die.

No joke: many of my neighbors (adults AND children) will wear puffy jackets and other full-fledged winter gear when temperatures are as high as 70. I know acclimation to cold and heat are things, but even so -- I genuinely don't understand how ANY healthy members of homo sapiens, a warm-blooded species with a non-feverish body temperature in the 96- to 98-degree range, can wear that much heat-retaining gear in 70-degree weather without overheating.

Earlier in the week, the forecast for this weekend was sunny and 70s. I distinctly heard the guy on MPR use the word "glorious." Nope. 40s and rainy all weekend. And if that wasn't depressing enough, now we have snow predicted for Thursday. I can only hope that forecast is as wrong as the last one was.
