We are in a heat wave. Mid 80s yesterday, today and likely tomorrow.
Come next January, I'm going to be telling you about how it's so damned cold here you can walk on water.

Only broke 110 once in June. That's not bad by Phoenix standards (especially since that's the airport reading and that's the hottest place in the valley). Supposed to be 115 today, though.

We broke hit 105 last week, which ties the all-time Denver record. Supposed to hit 84 this afternoon. It barely hit 70 on Sunday.

Ha! We're forecast for a brief cool spell in a couple of days: mid 80s. Plus a zillion percent humidity, of course.

It is SOOOOO humid tonight. Hopefully this front pushes through and it cools off. It's really rare to have a Heat Index of +5 degrees an hour after dark...

I've been hearing thunder for the past hour and more, as storms keep rolling by but not actually hitting where I live. But the temperatures have dropped to only the mid-70s! It's daylight hours in July, and I actually have the AC off and the windows open! Woo hoo! (It's still muggy as hell, but so long as the temperature isn't too high, excessive humidity is fairly comfortable if you're wearing linen rather than cotton.)

This was not a good week for my AC to go out. It was 115 today, and it's still 111.

Oh, damn. Stay hydrated and be careful of overheating.

Thanks. I have two portable AC units on loan, so it's only like 90 in my apartment, and I managed to be out most of the afternoon. But it's still not exactly comfortable.

Ugh, that level of heat is downright dangerous. Hope you get your AC fixed soon.

They said the parts should be in Monday morning. So they missed this weekend's heat wave, but it should be improved soon.

Is it dry or humid where you are? If it's a dry heat you could at least set up a makeshift swamp cooler.

I gave up and went back in to the office.

I was watching something on the Chromecast, and suddenly one AC and the TV both die.

I found the circuit box and tripped it back---then discovered that my desktop had been on the same circuit, and the boot cycle was now throwing errors about corrupted hard drive nodes.

I figure I'll fix that when the temperature drops below 90. So I turn everything off, go downstairs, and just work on my laptop. And then it shuts itself down because it's overheated.

Fuck. I'm just going somewhere where there's actually AC.

(To add insult to injury, I moved offices a couple weeks ago and they don't really have the AC on in my new office either. But it's on in the rest of the building, so my office is only 78).

Yay!! Heat wave broke and we are back in the low/mid 60s. I love sunny weather but damn mid 80s and almost nobody here having A/C means a whole lot of "fuck doing anything" over the weekend.

I can vouch for the Alaska weather right now as being far superior to the Mid Atlantic & Southeast US right now.

Plus it got clear enough for a while both yesterday & this morning to see Denali.

I'm actually surprised at how nice it's been the past couple days. It was supposed to be hotter, but it's never really gotten above 85, and the humidity has stayed fairly low, with a good breeze.

Doesn't mean I'm gonna hang out outside a lot, tho :)

We’d been having a gnarly ish fire season, but we’re getting some good rain today. Currently 66F.

We were in Estes Park yesterday when it was a pretty brutal 98F in Denver. There it was just 82-84F, although the sun at that elevation is intense enough that it felt pretty damn hot outside of the shade.

Rearranged the furniture and put the portable AC in the office/second bedroom rather than the living room. It actually works much better in there, since the office is much smaller and doesn't have windows and skylights and an exterior door. Unfortunately this leaves the living room even hotter, but oh well.
