Glad you're safe Taktix.

I'm still trying to contact my Sarasota neighbors to see how they fared and to get an update on my house down there.

I heard from my nephew outside Orlando, and he said that they got through pretty well, just shingles and fences damaged.

My sister in the Jax area said her power is out.

Water is up around the house of a friend in Charleston. Like the third year running, so he's gotten used to kayaking the dog instead of walking the dog.

Some areas of Jax had electricity this morning, others not, according to a friend of mine there. (As in, he had electricity and a friend of his didn't, so the friend came over to sit in AC and hang and watch tv.)

Yeah, my sister got it back early this afternoon, but it seems there's a bunch still without.

If some Republican Congressmen read this article, they may move faster on aid for PR than wait a few weeks.

There's a tropical depression off the central American coast right now; current forecasts call for it to become a hurricane (named "Nate"), and to move north through the gulf of Mexico and eventually hit Atlanta around Monday.

Fortunately, I still have pretty much all of the canned food and bottled drinks I'd bought for Irma; I'd only need to buy more crackers, granola bars and bread.

As should be to no one's surprise, the weather in Honolulu is good. We did have some humidity one day and had a bit of a shower, but my biggest complaint has been that it's been a bit warm in the mid-80s all week. In the category of upscale problems, the forecast for Tahiti next week is mostly cloudy.

Well, on the bright side, the storm will have passed New Orleans long before you land. But it may be over you when you're trying to take off.
