We're (inner DC area) supposed to get our first substantial snowfall of the season - on the first day of spring.

Happy Spring everyone!!

We are predicted to drop back down to more reasonable single digits by Thursday; which probably means high negatives at the homestead.

We're at about an inch of sleet for today.

This storm has been underwhelming inside the beltway. Everything looks very pretty, but streets and sidewalks are mostly clearing up on their own.

It's managed to cover up the roadway a few times, but because nobody's out, it seems fairly easy to plow. We're at about 4 inches of snow or so.

Was there some giant volcano eruption that nobody is telling us about that's gonna keep us in winter all year long? Cause usually we're not getting snow flurries in mid-April here, and weeks of temps in the 40s and low 50s.

High yesterday was 55F!! It's a veritable heat wave here. Not supposed to drop below freezing, even at night, for the rest of the week. My driveway/hill will no longer be an ice rink!! At this rate we will be planting the garden in 4-5 weeks.

Of course, weathermen are lying fucks but I'll take the optimism.

There were flakes in the air the other day. Obviously we're not going hard enough on global warming. I think we should have an emergency suspension on the gas tax at least until the dogwood blossoms.

Holy crap, it may actually be warm by Saturday. I'm getting tired of wearing a full-length wool coat and fur hat in mid-April.

OMG it's 78 in the house. I don't want to have to turn on the AC, it's only April.

High of 89 tomorrow, high of 64 on Friday, winds up to 75 mph between noon tomorrow and noon Friday. Spring is... different around here.

Now so much snow is predicted that I'm starting to worry about our plans for the MN Libertarian Party convention on Saturday. Will the babysitter cancel? Will Radley Balko cancel? Will I cancel? APRIL IN MINNESOTA, Y'ALL

That’s not too far. Maybe we should meet up some time for some food, lies, and recreational drinking.

You know Texas is involved when someone says 2.5 hours isn't that far.

You may be right. After arriving in Tucson, I remember telling Mrs. S what “a pleasant little drive” it had been.

And how the fuck did that emoji get into my post?
