Chicago's not the only place getting 8-12 inches.

It's raining, with occasional thunder. A lovely summer night, a tad cooler than usual, but since it's February it's to be expected.

Watching snow porn on the Weather Channel. There are so many northerners of whom I am so very envious right now.

We've just had rain all day yesterday and today, but it's pretty warm.

Yesterday, the temperature nearly hit 70 and we got nearly 4 inches of rain. This morning it's 35 and more rain is on the way. On the whole, I'd rather have snow than freezing rain any day.

Huh. We barely got three inches here, and it's the super dry/fluffy stuff that's easy to get rid of. I swept the sidewalks rather than shoveling.

This was preceded by one of the largest 48-hour temperature swings in Denver's record books, with a high on Sunday of 70 and a low on Monday night of -3. The 24-hour high-to-high change was 45F.

Highs have been in the mid-to-upper 70s this week, which would be nice except the humidity is dense. I am again reminded why cotton clothing is miserable in such weather.

How much did y'all end up getting?

Feel free to answer with photos of patio furniture. Kyle Clark notwithstanding.

Here in western Oregon, we got a light dusting last night. Enough that i needed to use the windshield wiper this morning. Briefly. So pretty much a blizzard.

I miss 70. We won't see those temps until late June at the earliest. We got about 2 inches of snow over the weekend and now we (hopefully) start the long thaw.

It was 80 this afternoon. Now it's pouring and on its way down into the 40s for tomorrow, falling all day.

Snow. 4" overnight of light powder and still coming down. So glad I spent 30 minutes Tuesday plowing the drive.

Starting to snow here. We're supposed to get a lot tonight. I'm cheering it on because there's a stupid work meeting I don't want to have tomorrow so I hope nobody else can come due to the weather. On the other hand, it will just get rescheduled for another day, so this doesn't really gain me anything.

I'm kind of envious of you snow people. It's 78 degrees outside right now, and yesterday and the day before it was equally warm. (That said: this is record-breaking or near-record-breaking for this time of year.)

Tomorrow the forecast calls for temperatures to drop back down from the high 70s to the high 60s.

Perfect weather for power outages here. Rain for 3 days, then high winds. My home office is closed, govt on lib leave, commuter rail shut down. Bridges closed from wind or trucks pushed over on them.

Amtrak's stopped, too. Thankfully between a microburst in '10 and the derecho in '12, we cleared out our most vulnerable trees in my neighborhood. Others are not so lucky.

Our office just allowed unscheduled telecommuting. For me, that's every day so...yay.
