So I moved and I'm happy at this house. The owner is a nice person and we get along. The cats...don't. I can do some pre-winter gardening etc. and there's a woodstove. Far better than my last situation.

I was able to test the 67-pound keyboard I was lugging (probably) at the time my disc herniated. It works, including all keys! Pretty good for something 30 years old. Saves me from buying a new one for $900 or so.

Of course, pretty sure I've spent more than that on medical bills, but hey.

In the next few days, I should hit 60 pounds down from where I started. Admittedly, tinkering with my body's settings to select "Easy Mode" may have robbed me of some of the satisfaction of succeeding at something that's super difficult, and ahahahahaha I can't finish that sentence. No ragrets.

Congrats, that's an accomplishment. I lost 60 pounds a few years ago, was angling to lose 40 more, but gained back 20 instead.

If you don't mind telling us, it would entertain me to know where the proceeds from the sale of your house are to be deposited, and to what purpose you expect them to be applied.

Like where were we going to invest the proceeds? We are going to save up for about 6 months and, with the money in savings from house sale, have enough for a down payment for our next house. We don't have a super secret investment portfolio or anything.

I just got off the phone with Custom Saddlery in Aiken, SC, where my saddle is presently in for repair.

The saddle tree needs to be replaced, which normally costs US$690. Before I sent the saddle to them, I was told that it was out of warranty (5 years). I saw the estimate and they were going to waive the replacement cost because the saddle was manufactured in 2012, when the warranty was 10 years. I phoned to check and the lady on the other end said that she would give me the 10 year warranty even though I really should only get the 5 year warranty.

One of the things I truly love about the USA is the attitude towards customer service, which is light-years better than anywhere else on the planet.

No. You get it back in repeat customers. Seriously, Warren, I believe you've said you don't travel much outside of the USA. You have no idea how bad customer service is in the rest of the world.
