Since the Harrier is a Marine jet, would the flag have to have a gold fringe?

I'm not sure, but related: I think if you own one, you're obligated to claim you're a sovereign citizen when the cops come after you land it in a parking lot.

I think if you have a Harrier, you're probably sovereign in most of the ways that matter.

Interestingly enough, there does appear to be one private owner of Harrier jets. Not surprisingly, he's a retired USMC Harrier pilot (and in fact the first person ever to perform an engine-out landing in a Harrier) who basically flies them for airshows

I'm pretty sure you can buy almost all decomissioned, de-militarized planes at government surplus auctions, except for an F-14.

I thought if it's still in active service as a front line aircraft, you couldn't buy it because they'll keep it at the boneyard and raid it for parts.

Probably not for the US government, but I am sure that there are officials in some of the 'friendly' governments that the US has sold F-14s to that would accommodate you for the right consideration.

Here's a story from 2007 about 4 civilian owned f-14s being impounded because they weren't completely de-militarized.

I think the big problem is that Iran has a small fleet of F-14s (which we gave/sold to them!) and is desperate for replacement parts.

Bingo, it's Iran. I actually didn't know that any are in public, they made a big deal of smashing the last few to bits when the last squadron stood down.

I have known a few people to say they were proud to pay taxes. I offer to let them pay mine too so they can be twice as proud, but for some reason they never take me up on it.

Went and saw The Post tonight. I watched a film about newspapers inside a movie theater inside of a mall. It was a dying industry turducken.
