Are we sure there isn't wiggle room in the Constitution to remove a president for just being fucking embarrassing?
I should have listened to Warren. He was right again as usual.

Enrique, if I can interrupt – this is not a new proposal. This is what I have been saying for a year and a half on the campaign trail. I have been telling this to every group of 50,000 people or 25,000 people – because no one got the people in their rallies as big as I did. But I have been saying I wanted to tax people that treated us unfairly at the border, and Mexico is treating us unfairly.
What the fuck is the matter with this guy?

Charles Cooke is trying to argue in NR that just because you want to cut the number of immigrants in half, doesn't mean you're anti-immigrant because you still support some immigration. Somehow that nuance does not extend to wanting greater oversight on police or cutting the military by 2%.

Yeah I was (foolishly) disappointed in Cooke on this. I mean not that he can disappoint me *that* much.

To be fair, he's only 31 in people years. Dog-whistle years are different.

Yet another way in which employers are incentivized to hire illegal immigrants. It's not like working conditions are going to be worse than where most illegal immigrants come from, so it's not much disincentive to work illegally. It's just another way to make American and legal immigrants less competitive in the labor market, and to be callous/cruel in the name of nativism.

Trump's wall narrative has switched from "Mexico will pay for it" to "I'll shut down the government to force Congress/taxpayers to pay for it."

Personally, I like the suggestion I saw once on Twitter: if he wants that damned wall so badly, build it out of Hillary's emails. Nobody EVER gets over THOSE.

Both of those stories are ridiculous bullshit. There's no good reason for our government's immigration policies and priorities. Side note: Alvin Queen's comment is also irrational. What does his dedication to music have to do with whether he can enter the U.S.? cf. Cat Stevens.

This isn't new. I've been hearing similar anecdotes since the Reagan Administration. Indeed, families torn apart by deportation has been one of the motivating forces of the Dreamers.
