Will be amazing if anyone continues to defend Trump following the PR screw up and the PR-related p.r. screw up.
I figure any Trumpster who defended that utter debacle of his rally in Phoenix will defend anything he says or does unless they personally are harmed by it -- and I highly doubt any such Trumpsters live in Puerto Rico or have loved ones who do. Trump's Phoenix rally contained multiple violations of the "broken glass proof" -- most notoriously, sneering that the very news networks broadcasting his speech were refusing to broadcast it, because THEY don't want America to hear his brilliance. Blecch.

I don't even think Trump grasps that they're citizens there.
Even if he knows -- they can't vote.
They can if they have to move to Florida....
Indeed, but Trump doesn't strike me as the foresightful type.

I think that's giving him too much credit.

Among the many reasons to dislike Trump, include his actions allowing Morning Joe to improve his rep by criticizing the worst potus ever.

Purge the Republican infidels. This came from Pence's chief of staff, not Trump's. Either the idiocy is contagious or even "the adults" are dumb children.

Trump expressed disgust over Puerto Ricans drinking purified water.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics ... 47c65bb375
The church is also distributing water purification kits, and a member explained the process to the president.

“Wait,” Trump said, “you put it in dirty water?”

“And then you can drink it after 10 to 12 hours,” she explained.

“Would you do it? Would you drink it?” he asked.

“Sure,” she said.

“Really?” Trump said, a disgusted look coming across his face.

“Really,” she said.

“Is this your company or something?” Trump asked the woman, seeming suspicious of the aggressive pitch.

“No,” she said, “I’m part of the church.”

Admittedly I prefer filtering to purification tabs, but the best option is both, and tabs are better than nothing.

mrs lunch can tell you what happens when you brush your teeth and rinse your mouth with untreated tapwater in, say, the Galapagos.

And if you're the president of the United Fucking States and discover that American citizens have to use tabs because a natural disaster has left clean water unavailable to them, you should fucking know that already.

I knew Trump would suck as a president, but I never imagined he'd fail so utterly at such bog-standard presidential stuff as "At least pretending to give a damn when a natural disaster causes Americans to suffer."

Whoops, so I was. Sorry, Nicole. Though I daresay Trump's suckitude is such that it's worth bringing up twice. (Seriously, though: for all the good things about this new-ish "Tweets are embedded" feature, it sometimes takes waaaaay too long for the tweets to actually become visible. I'm generally good about reading or at least skimming text on new posts before posting a comment, but haven't the patience to wait for all the tweets to become visible.)

I feel you. I would post less from tweets if I weren't trying to avoid hitting the 10-article paywalls for a lot of these pubs.
