I am disappointed. A hacking group? With that name, I was hoping for Space Aliens and cattle mutilation.

Also, Beto got elected to city council on tax abatements to spur growth and told Vanity Fair "he proclaims himself a proud capitalist".

Perhaps a liberal-tarian moment?

Or at least a Blue charismatic and moderate enough to nearly win a US Senate election in Texas. He can't get the angry racist older relatives votes, but no Blue could.

Though, Hell, Warren is making a point of calling herself a capitalist, so the Blue likelies probably realize embracing Full Commie is a loser approach.

And all the Sanders corruption and self-dealing likely is going to be the end of him. Unlike Clinton, this crop won’t be afraid of digging deep on oppo for Bernie.

Yeah. Clinton didn't need to dig deep into oppo because she was winning anyway, and she was super scared of losing his voters.

His current competitors aren't "clearly winning anyway" so they gotta go for it. And from a Blue perspective, better now than in October 2020.

Conversely, if there's any D who can peel off a few of the angry racist older relatives, it's going to be the white guy that looks like JFK a little. They're not voting for Kamala Harris.

It absolutely disgusts me to talk in such terms but we have a reality T.V. star as president and everyone fucking pronounces the "l" in salmon but this reality is what we have to work with.

Does that mean something different from the traditional “publicity tour by someone who will definitely not be president”?

I mean the whole boomlet. Like he's 4th in prediction markets (which says more about prediction markets than Yang). Is it just the Blue version of Ben Carson or Hermain Cain?

Silver's theory is that he appeals pretty directly to the sort of people who bet in prediction markets.

And, like, the prediction market isn't a vote; in theory they're trying to predict what other people will think.

But it's a lot easier to believe that other people will start liking someone if you yourself like them. "Andrew Yang is so likeable [to me]; he's exactly the sort of candidate that people [like me] are waiting for and want to support. So surely people [like me] will start supporting him and so he has a good chance at the nomination."

Sort of like the Pundit's Fallacy, but from Scottish teens.

I saw a TV at the gym this morning, and CNN was breathlessly reporting how Harris had jumped 8 points in some poll with the talking heads yammering about it. For fucks sake you idiots, it's March 2019. Sheep entrails and star alignments would be more relevant (and interesting).

You know, if they could find someone who knew Roman augury, it would be fun to have them do a prediction. Unfortunately, the Sibylline Books have long been lost. (Unless they're buried in the Index of the Vatican Library.)

Pete Buttigieg is not going to win, because we're not going to have a "President Buttigieg". We're just not. I mean, listen to the sound of it.

I actually think the American people have established a pattern of voting based on the lulz factor.

Nope. He's going to be the 2020 candidate. The rubes are going to go for that jingle. Sorry JD.
