I need to get plans for an EMP cannon up for sale somewhere and use Boston Robotics footage for advertising. And that creepy ostrich thing made of hands.

This is not a joke, when I asked the same question, it did the exact same thing.

Mine helpfully adds a units conversion to seconds per square meter.

WA expects math problems, not factual questions. It's a web front end for a limited version of Mathematica.

(Which was the bomb to play with in the early-nineties. It was a fantastic REPL, like a Jupyter notebook system twenty-five years ago. Which makes it less gob-smacking now, but at the time 3D graphs of algebraic functions or building a crude public key encryption system out of a few cells worth of functions was awesome. )

Mathematica is still pretty fun. I use it in most of my calculus classes.

I'm sad Wolfram Alpha no longer does the thing when you ask it what the function of a rubber duck is, though.

The problem isn't with WA, it's that Siri thinks, "How long can a lobster survive out of water" is a WA question.

That this sort of idiocy still happens gives me hope that AI still has a ways to go before declaring humans obsolete.

I dunno. Google might be onto something. Start at the South Park Brewing Co. with great plans and then just forget about them and go to Tijuana.

Also an AI has managed to become a top 1% Starcraft II competitor (even after being hobbled for reaction times).

And in something that isn't just gaming, the DeepMind AI proved to be significantly better and faster at figuring out what words went in the gaps of damaged ancient Greek inscriptions.
