As an aside, I didn't realize the Oil Drum stopped being a thing about 4 years ago. There's a lagging economic indicator for you.

Did it? Invest in calypso.
But seriously, what does that mean? The oil drum I'm thinking of is a fifty gallon barrel that lots of products are shipped in. It wouldn't surprise me if it's only being made in plastic now, but I assume it's still a commonly used container. That it's not used to ship oil anymore is only surprising in that it was still being done so as recently as four years ago.

Yeah, y'all can all eat lentils if medicine lets my mom, aunt, and uncle love a long, comfortable life.

But then, they're working taxpayers.

They can have all the normal stuff they just can't have the secret sauce that makes them nigh (neigh?) immortal.

I like lentils tho. The best base euro style lentil recipe is Ina's here. I basically do this and mess around with white wine here or chili flake there. Leeks are key.

Is Magic Leap the next big flop?
This company is now 7 years old and has no product.

Total raised: $1.39B[0]. The last round was almost $800M in Feb.

This $500M will bring the total to $1.9B.

Truly amazing.

Intel GPU-integrated Cannon Lake may not be ready until year-end 2018, say sources

At least four years on the 14nm node, Intel's product pipeline is really struggling.

As if it hasn't been said enough. Subprime borrowers weren't the folks that drove the mortgage bubble.

Do they mean flippers, or do they mean people who buy houses to then rent out to others, or things like vacation time share type investments? Or all three?

A prime borrower can have a subprime loan. Which is why looking at borrower credit score is more illuminating than looking at loan type.

If you're writing NINA loans, it doesn't matter what the borrower's credit score is.

Also, 125 LTVs, zero amortization loans and if the borrower has a bunch of outstanding debt, you can have a prime borrower with a subprime loans. But when people think of subprime lending, they think of poorer people with shitty credit, not wealthier people doing weird shit.

This is why politicians generally avoid using short term stock market fluctuations like a scoreboard.

No doubt we'll be told that the crashing market is Obama's fault, while the Christmas bonuses given out by businesses were Trump's doing.
