The narration really makes this. Does not make me hopeful about humanity's chances against the robot uprising:

Goddamn, that made me laugh.

Oy. Plinkett needs to take his own advice with the editing things down.

Not saying I could do things better, but that was more of a slog than his earlier stuff.

But he's right that the only really good thing was Leslie Jones' character (although I actually like the Jared scenes [because I think I stopped watching before the guy showed up on The Office]).

His earlier stuff ran longer than the movie and was padded out with vignettes from his basement etc.

I know, and maybe it's the schtick getting older, but it seemed like in the best of the early ones - especially the prequel-trilogy ones - the only parts that dragged were the basement vignettes. This one, I wanted to reach through the screen and punch him after the third time he said "Remember Scarface?" and he said it a thousand more times. At some point it stops being ironically annoying and becomes actually annoying.

Agreed. A quick sound effect and reference to; a murdered ex-wife, stripper granddaughter, criminal son, etc. tickled my funny bone, but the more time he spends on a joke the less funny it lands. But that's always been the case, and I found GB less of a slog for it's shorter run time.

I think that the new Ghostbusters is their white whale. It was probably a mediocre movie, but who cares about it now. There was some interesting stuff in the video, but I didn't learn alnearly as much about what makes a good movie as I did from the prequel ones.

It depends on whether or not it's an ad for a specific product or if it's just a discussion of a new technique for which there is no single vendor.
