This describes my television watching perfectlyL

Many Americans Not Watching Enough Television To Make Worthwhile Contribution To Small Talk

I watch so little television that I am generally a silent bystander to any conversation about current programs.

Onion from 1998: New $5,000 Multimedia Computer System Downloads Real-Time TV Programs, Displays Them On Monitor

It's interesting what's still applicable and what's changed.

I've seen ads for "Documentary Now!" that runs on the Independent Film Channel, which seems like a send up of the Vice eponymous HBO series. Has anyone seen an episode of that?

The Onion continues to have the best coverage of the crisis in Syria:

GOP Warns Refugees Likely To Be Driven To Terrorism By Way America Would Treat Them
Cruz claimed that the country did not face the same threat from Syria’s Christian refugees, stressing his confidence that only a small percentage of U.S. citizens would regard them as Muslim extremists.

This one is awesome (even if it is a few years old)

US Flag Recalled After Causing 143 Million Deaths
Millions of U.S. flag–related injuries and fatalities have been reported over a 230-year period in locations as far flung as Europe, Cuba, Korea, Gettysburg, PA, the Philippines, and Iraq. In addition, the company found that U.S. flag exports to Vietnam during the late 1960s and early 1970s resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths, a clear sign that there was something seriously wrong with its product.

Consumers will have a choice of replacement options. Abortions for some, tiny American flags for others.
