I think all European spines face that way. All the non-English European-language books I have do, including French, Italian and Hungarian as well.

What's so hard? It's just a Finno-Ugric language with almost no common roots and uses word endings to indicate all parts of grammar and is extremely precise about vowel sounds, of which it has more than almost any other European language.

Nothing hard, I just haven't studied it in about 20 years and never got past the basics. Case is great! And it really doesn't have that many vowel sounds.

A LOTTERY winner who hit a jackpot of almost £1million shot himself dead after losing his lucky tickets.
Jirawut Pongphan invited friends and family to his house for a drink to celebrate, only to wake up the next day and find his tickets gone, leaving him unable to claim his £950,000 winnings.
...
Jirawut bought seven tickets with the same numbers in the hope of maximising his winnings.
I was going to say that that is not how probabilities work, but I guess it could have been one of those lotteries where each winning ticket wins a fixed amount, rather than just splitting the jackpot. Still seems like a bizarre strategy, though. Also, if you're going to throw a party to celebrate your not-yet-claimed lottery winnings, you don't keep the tickets in your house, you get a safe deposit box and put the tickets there first. Tax on stupidity, indeed.

It's the good advice that he just couldn't take. Who would have thought? It figures.

I didn't RTFA, but it seems like it would have been easy to figure out who stole the tickets, because they'd have to go claim the money ...

Unless they were stolen by a particularly nasty sort who just wants to prevent the guy from winning, without trying to cash them himself....

It looks great for outdoor shots, but with anything that requires additional lighting, it makes any deficiencies in the setup extremely and immediately obvious. The Hobbit movies were a really good example of that in action.

i saw some internal dialogue shot from one of the marvel superhero movies. it looked like a telenova but with a lysergic twinge to it, like my eyes couldn't quite focus right.

I was really confused by that for a second. Like, how do you film internal dialogue? Isn't that a voiceover? But now I know what you meant :D

I’m highly intolerant of Mexican soap opera disease. Team 60fps can suck it.

Directors are having trouble adjusting to the tech. Reservoir Dogs would have been brilliant in 60fps.

I think it looks fine. I think it'll get used better, and lighting, direction, and cinematography will catch up, just like they caught up to video.
