I mentioned on another thread that I've been getting an error when I try to upload attachments, saying I've reach the board quota. Is that...can we change that?

Adding support for twitter and instagram links would go a long way toward obviating that problem.

That is over my head and would require taming the administrator's ADHD to get it addressed. A perilous quest to undertake!

But I think I fixed the attachment limits thingy.

So in an effort to update phpBB, we'll need to have some downtime--hopefully less than an hour, but having never done one of these before, I can't be sure. I'd also like to allow time to reverse course and restore from backups if something goes wrong.

Does anyone have a problem with me doing it this evening, say 11PM EDT? That's 3PM Sunday in New Zealand, 4AM Sunday in the UK, and 6am Sunday in the more arid trouble spots of the world.

Any strong objections, please note them by 10PM EDT.

Speaking for myself, I think if you're going to do maintenance and upgrades, then do it on your schedule, when it's convenient for you. If the site's down for 2 hours, I don't know that it matters that much, especially if you've said so in advance. I dunno that there's any 'prime time', especially on a weekend. But even then, I think the fact of doing it is more important than if someone can't use the site and wanted to in that time period.

Agree with HWY. Don't mind us, do it on your schedule. We'll find a way to live without grylliade.org for a couple hours.

He was also very polite about the state of Grylliade after looking under the hood. Quit diplomatic of him :D

In 10 minutes from this post I'm going to disable the board. Smoke 'em if you got 'em. Or ingest, I'm not the boss of you.

Also, is it possible to shift to https? Especially for login screens etc.

That would be ideal, but may involve some cost & configuration. Am in discussions about those issues.

Aha! Cheers. I assume the cost is for certificate, maybe software upgrade?
