So a professor lied about doing research to FB users, passed the information to the Trump campaign's data analytics provider and used it for political targeting. FB chooses a 9 PM Friday new dump.

I now believe that Trump is the most Objectivist president ever: He made a former ExxonMobil CEO into an object of mass sympathy.

I dread the 80 page Twitter thread that is coming...

Fortunately for Trump, no president has to worry about a deputy FBI director with a grudge.

I assume Trump and Sessions were 'sending a message'. Otherwise, they could simply have waited two days and smiled McCabe out the door.

It has backfired spectacularly. Not only have they given him a platform, they have also raised his value on the rubber chicken circuit so he can better supplement his pension.

Also, I am guessing that the 'old spooks network' inside the Agency will now see the Trump Administration as enemies.

What's fuck up to me is that it was to try to strip him of his pension. Flynn gets to keep his but McCabe doesn't? All kinds of fucked up.

What Aresen said. Trump and Sessions have sent the message that "Keep your head down and wait to collect your pension" is no longer a strategy that you can count on.

The other message it sends is to other law enforcement agents and leaders, “Play ball or we will take away your pension.”

Yeah, it's a dangerous message. On the one hand you don't want the FBI picking winners and losers or playing vengeance tactics, but on the other hand you don't want the Sheriff's Secret Police being enforcers for the regime.

And it's not even going to work. He's going to get a job with a congressman for two days, top off his time, and still collect. They were massively petty, and it's not even going to satisfy their need for vengeance.

The only other plausible scenario is that the FBI is *so* Trumpified (and has been for a while), most of the 'establishment' is happy with schadenfreude that McCabe got the Bunny Colvin treatment.

Ivanka will be meeting with the Foreign Minister of South Korea because her father used Twitter to fire the guy who would normally do this:

Realistically, the Foreign Minister would probably prefer to talk to someone that Trump will listen to.

It could be worse.

He could have sent Fredo to the meeting.

Ivanka had some indication she could have made it to Sonny, but she wound up another Fredo.
