I dig the good news article.
On the bad news side, it's all deficit spending. Which I agree is thee number one threat to the security and continued well being of the Republic.
However, it is far from the only bad news since 1968. We've created a host of alphabet agencies, USDE, DEA, EPA, just to name three. And all agencies have experienced mission creep. So Title IX, which was about funding female sports, is now about prosecuting sexual misconduct. The SEC convicted Martha Stewart for denying she committed a noncriminal act. etc.
