It's not so much that it's all new as uniquely ironic given that Trump was the "tell it like it is no more PC" candidate.
Oh, well in that respect he's kind of both stretching and shifting the definition of PC, IMO. I certainly don't think of it as meaning anytime your team gets criticized the criticizer is a bad person who belongs to the enemy. It's more oriented toward identity politics than political teams per se, and it's kind of inherently a lefty thing, I mean just by definition, based on how people use and understand it. That said, it's true enough that in a broad sense it's really not so very different from team politics whose players are certainly no better than PC warriors in terms of open v. closed-mindedness and finger pointing and the like (enemy mongering?). And it's damn good to point that out. Whether the "see, you're
PC, too!" gambit per se will work on anyone is anyone's guess. But were I the object of it myself I'd just say, no, I'm not PC, I'm just a dick in other, maybe similar ways, haha! (BTW, if one objects to my use of "team" cause Reds are largely red-faced over Trump right now, I think a "Team Trump" can be acknowledged whether or not that aligns all that perfectly with Team Red right at the moment....)
Your optimism just confuses and enrages me. - Timothy
